Poker run to benefit juvenile fire intervention program
St. John's Trauma and Burn Center has partnered with local agencies and fire
departments to conduct a motorcycle poker run 9 a.m. Saturday.
The
105-mile ride will begin at St. John's Surgery Center, 1229 E. Seminole St., and
end at Bumsteads in Nixa.
Proceeds benefit “Burn Busters” Juvenile Fire
Intervention Program.
St. John's and others began the program last year
and modeled it after successful fire-setter interventions programs across the
country.
“The consequences of juvenile fire setting can be tragic and
costly,” said Pam Holt, St. John's Trauma Prevention Education Coordinator.
